Mehndi – What is Mehndi

Mehndi is the application of Henna. It is common in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Mehndi is usually applied on hands and feet. It is usually drawn on palm and feet. It became fashionable in West in late 1990s. Mehndi is always an integral part of the makeup of the girls and the women alike. Mehndi is applied during festivals and weddings. It reflects the beautiful mood of the occasion and the joyous mood of the women. It makes them look all the more pretty and elegant with a variety range of colors and designs on their hands. Mehndi is also used as a form of decoration for brides. Remember that Mehndi is an amazing body art that is painless and temporary!

Pakistani Mehndi Designs

Arabic Mehndi Designs

Arabic henna, as the name itself suggests, has been adopted from the Arab world and are extremely popular in North Africa, South Asia and Middle East. Arabic Mehndi Designs are well known as less detailed designs, although the colors are very dark. Instead of having fill-ins it is just colored in boldly.
